He is autistic and finds great passion in exploration and learning new things specifically pertaining to his expertise. Highly adept in the medical and healing arts, physical anatomy, and botany. Decently skilled in psychiatry but pretty by the book. Mostly logical and somewhat emotionally stunted from his upbringing, he finds it hard to truly empathize and doesn’t pick up well on implications or reading between the lines and prefers straightforward and clear communication. He enjoys documenting everything in his notebook(s) whether it be by word or picture, it gives him something to study or reference at a later date if needed.He is quite fidgety, meek, and flusters easily in general conversation, but is confident and fairly well spoken when the subject pertains to what he specializes in. He's not necessarily afraid to ask questions or approach others but is definitely a bit clumsy with how he goes about it as he can be blunt and oblivious at times to social cues, sometimes a bit akward as he tries to mimic what he has studied about conventional behavior. Overall he tries his best to be polite and proper.He's willing to try almost anything at least once, with guidance. Gyo was an only child born in Sui-no-Sato. He was raised conservatively and sheltered heavily. He found his life there to be boring and fruitless so he set out at a young age to explore, leaving his family behind. He eventually landed in Eorzea, Limsa Lominsa to be specific. There he found his passion in Botany and while he was investigating local flora he stumbled across the talented arcanist, K’lyhia. They both got along well, sharing their knowledge with each other and Gyo decided to join the guild where he found his own talents in magic.He found many along his travels that needed aid and he felt a great sense of fulfillment using his minimal healing powers to help, which encouraged him to seek out ways to improve and expand upon them. During his time spent working on the magical aspect, he also honed his skills in the naturalistic facets of medicine and studied adamantly to learn more about how the body and mind could benefit from more traditional and straightforward means.After working with the Arcanist’s guild for a while, he is referred to meet Alka Zolka, who had the same penchant for learning as he. It was in their exploration of Nymian artifacts where Gyo found and attuned to a Scholar soul crystal, his fairy slumbering within. With the power of the soul stone and his new partner, he was able to drastically improve his healing skills.His travels eventually took him to Ishgard where he found an immense population of war torn knights, dragoons, and civilians alike, not to mention those afflicted by ugly politics and a classist society. He chose to devote himself to these people both high and lowborn and selected a residence easily accessible to anyone in the city-state so that he may provide care to those who need it, regardless of their status.
